Kids’ Meals is a non-profit organization that makes and delivers free healthy meals directly to the homes of hungry preschool-aged children living in extreme poverty. During the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic, it was necessary to hold the annual Harvest Luncheon virtually. Kids’ Meals was looking for a creative solution to this unique challenge and asked Telegram Sir to create a compelling video which would garner financial support from viewers.
The goal was to inspire the same level of giving, typical for the traditional in-person event. Our strategy involved blending documentary, animation, and scripted modes of storytelling together to communicate the mission of the organization, the impact on the community and the vision for the future. The combination of over 14 separate interviews with executive staff, frontline employees, major donors, volunteers, and families served by the organization; 4 hand illustrated animations; and an original scripted short film casting over 30 actors, culminated in the creation of a 46-minute video to serve as the centerpiece for the fundraiser. Additionally, to maximize the value of this project, we designed the content to form 16 stand-alone videos. This provided Kids’ Meals with marketing material for use after the fundraiser was over.
